LO2 Venues and Artists

Venues

Brooklyn- This is where Hip Hop music originated and became big. I thought it might make the festival better if the festival was held where it all started.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Harlem- Harlem also had a huge impact on the Hip Hop scene and in this area both basketball and Hip Hop where combined.

Rucker Park
Rucker park is where the ABA basketball all started. Famous basketball players such as Dr.J (Julius Erving) and Wilt Chamberlain came from this court and during this time through the basketball scene the hip hop music genre was making itself popular.

London- Finsbury Park is a very large park in London, this park is host to festivals such as the wireless festival.

If my festival was held here then it could possibly help the future of the Hip Hop genre as it was target a wider audience and the expose from playing at Finsbury Park would help expose the artists music.

Manchester- Heaton Park is a great place to hold a festival as it is a huge open space which allows for more people to attend.

The reason for manchester as a loctaion is that the Grime sub genre of hip hop was hugely popular in manchesters youth.

LO2 Target Audience

Audience Profile

Hi my names Lucas, I am a 17 year old student of my local college and I live in a housing project in downtown London. I am part of a family of 6, my mother, my father and my three brothers. This makes my household a chaotic place. I listen to a lot of music, most of this music happens to be within the hip hop genre or close to it. This kind of music helps me to blank out and escape from this chaos.  All of my friends listen to this music too and many of my friends make music within the hip hop genre, which is a good way for me to get involved in my passion of music.

LO3 House style

This is the house style I have chosen. I think that these colours represent Hip-Hop in an urban way so the combination of these colours and a graffiti style logo is very effective as a hip hop festival brand identity.

LO3 Design ideas

These design are rough ideas about what I want for a logo design. The first idea is a graffiti tag inspired design that clearly shows the Flow Bomb name through the use of flow in font then the cartoon of a bomb. The second design is another graffiti inspired piece, however this one has the bomb in the background and it clearly says in font Flow Bomb in the foreground.  The third piece is a more DJ inspired piece as it has a record as part of the Bomb logo, this assists people into thinking it is a festival logo. The fourth idea is my chosen idea as it clearly shows the name of the festival but also has a subtlety about it, for instance the is no unnecessary font in front of the logo.

LO2 Self Assessment

I need to finish my design mock ups, choose fonts. And then finish my effective design and successful brands.
